Janie Vandal

Janie was born and raised on a farm and ranch in north central North Dakota near the Canadian border. With a background heavily influenced by horticulture, some of her favorite things growing up were visiting the International Peace Gardens every summer and climbing to the top of Butte St. Paul, the highest peak of the Turtle Mountains. Janie graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. She also holds an Associate of Science Degree in Greenhouse Technology and Floral Design from Dakota College at Bottineau. Janie aspires to begin taking the L.A.R.E. exams soon to obtain licensure. Some of her design strengths include park planning, seasonal plant displays, unique event venues, and urban revitalization. Janie enjoys spending her time outdoors and playing with her cats.
