Strong Start Academy at Wardelle

The City of Las Vegas initiated the Strong Start Las Vegas campaign, aiming to champion and raise awareness about the vital role of early childhood education in fostering school readiness and achieving grade-level reading proficiency, especially in underserved communities. Through this initiative, the city has made significant investments in pre-kindergarten infrastructure to enhance access to high-quality early childhood education.

One notable outcome of these efforts is the forthcoming completion of a state-of-the-art facility, funded at $9.8 million and slated for completion by fall 2021. This facility, spanning nearly 20,000 square feet, will serve as the home for the Strong Start Academy alongside a dedicated health center.

In collaboration with Acelero Learning, the Strong Start Academies represent a partnership between the City of Las Vegas and the educational organization. Families meeting specific income criteria may qualify for tuition-free enrollment in these academies, ensuring equitable access to quality early childhood education for all.
