Downtown Access Project
Downtown Access
About This Project
In an effort to use transportation design as tool to enhance an entire community, this project boldly recommended placing a cap on top of a redesigned segment of I-515 through downtown Las Vegas. As the landscape architects for the project, we were tasked with creating a conceptual design for a 30-acre park to be placed on top of this urban freeway. Our design included passive park uses to the west near the cultural core of downtown, while the uses become more active as the user moves east towards a more suburban environment. Utilizing our extensive 3D modeling capabilities, Lage Design was able to provide realistic rendering of the park and its individual spaces. In addition, we provided studies of non-traditional bridge rail and pedestrian fence options to be incorporated into the unique project.
