SR 160: Phase 2

About This Project

This project involves approximately 6 miles of widely used NV State Route 160 widening, with corridor landscape and aesthetic improvements. The main project goals were to create a safer route for motorists and cyclists between Las Vegas and Pahrump and specifically for the town of Mountain Springs. The landscape and aesthetics portion of this project celebrates the history of the area, and the extensive use as one of the main routes of the Old Spanish Trail. To celebrate this history, the design created for the site included decorative figures that demonstrate what life may have been like on the Old Spanish Trail, decorative structures for wayfinding, and extensive tree mitigation and re-vegetation of salvaged plant material native to the area. Lage Design’s scope of work included conceptual design, visualizations and presentation boards for Stakeholder and Public meetings, final design, and construction documentation, and contract administration.
